0.25 * 32 is 8
Zaire takes 50% of 24
0.5 * 24 is 12
How many peanuts are left in the bag.
Well, 32 - 8 - 12
That is 12
There are 12 peanuts left in the bag

To check:
Elliot took 8
Zaire took 12
There are 12 left in the bag
We started with 32
8+12+12 =?= 32
8 + 24 =?= 32
32 = 32

SO THERE ARE 12 PEANUTS LEFT IN THE BAG!!!
