The little 2 next to (n+7) means squared. Therefore you have to put the same numbers twice.
(n+7)(n+7) = n2+7n+7n+49 : then add the same numbers so in this case 7n+7n which gives you :
n2+14n+49

if that 2 is an exponent

(n+7)^2=(n+7)(n+7)=

(n+7)(n)+(n+7)(7)=

n^2+7n+7n+49=

n^2+14n+49

or you coud use the formula

(a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2
so

(n+7)^2=n^2+2(n)(7)+7^2=n^2+14n+49
answer is C
