To increase an amount by 5.4% what single multiplier would you use

I would use the decimal form of 5.4%. It is very easy to convert a percentage into a decimal. All you have to do is move the decimal point two places to the left and remove the % sign.

5.4% = 0.054

So, 0.054 would be your multiplier.
