(because a^2 plus b^2 equals c^2)
hope this helps and have a great day!

Answer:

D )It is a right triangle.

Explanation:

Given : A triangle has sides that measure 5 cm, 12 cm, and 13 cm.

To find : What type of triangle is it.

Solution : We have a triangle with sides

Let side a = 5cm

Side b = 12 cm

Side c = 13 cm.

We can see square of largest side is equal to the square of sum of two other sides.

Since,
a^(2) +b^(2) = c^(2)

Plugging the values of a, b, c

(5)^(2) +(12)^(2) = (13)^(2)

25 + 144 = 169

169 = 169

Hence it follow the Pythagoras theorem

Therefore ,D) it is a right triangle.
