A dying client is coping with feelings regarding impending death. The nurse bases care on the theory of death and dying by Kübler-Ross. During which stage of grieving should the nurse primarily use nonverbal interventions?

During most of the Kubler-Ross model stages of grief, various methods of conversation can be of help, but during the depression stage, the best comfort is just to "be there" for them. In this stage, trying to cheer them up can be hurtful and little you can say will actually be well received, so non-verbal support is usually best.
