-2y +1= y - 5 please help it says i got it wrong but im not sure

First, you would need to simplify both sides of the equal sign. (It is already simplified as much as possible).
-2y + 1 = y - 5

Now, you would need to combine like terms on both sides of the equation. Remember, y = 1y.
-2y + 1 = y - 5
-3y = -6

Now, all you would have to do is isolate the x. To do this, you would divide both sides by -3.
-3y = -6
y = 2
