Five family members will bowl this month. The prices at Dan’s Alley are listed in the table. The total budget for the outing is $115. The budget for gas and food is $25. Write an equation to find out how many games each family member can bowl. Let G represent the number of games bowled by each family member. Then solve. Cost per game=$5 Shoe Rental (one-time fee per visit)=$3

Solution:

Number of family members = 5

Total Budget = $ 115

Budget for gas and food = $ 25

Remaining money = $115 - $ 25 = $ 90

G = Number of games bowled by each company

Amount charged for shoe Renting per family = $ 3

Total amount charged for shoe renting per family = 3 × 5= $ 15

Money Left = $ 90 -$ 15 = $ 75

Equation that represent number of games bowled by 5 family members

→ 5 G = 75

→G = 15 →→→→[Dividing both sides by 5]

Number of Family members = 5

Games played by each family =
(15)/(5) = 3

So, each family members can bowl 3 games.

Total budget 115$. 25$ gas and food. 115$-25$=90$ left.
Shoe rental 3$. For 5 family members they need 15$ for shoe rental.
90$-15$=75$ left for games. 75$/5members=15$ per member for games. One game is 5$ so every member can play 15$/5$=3 games. G=3.
