Which of the following is not an idea from Thomas Paine's pamphlet Common Sense? (3 points) British leaders base decisions on their own interests, not the colonies' interests. American colonists were from all over Europe, not just Britain. The British monarch should be respected as a matter of common sense. The American colonies would do well without any help from Britain.

Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" was written with the purpose of convincing colonists succession from Britain was best for the colonies. Where is common sense to separate themselves from Britain, he would never claim "(t)he British monarch should be respected as a matter of common sense. "
