For scale problems, you can use a proportion.
1.5 sculpture size is to 8 real size as 5 ft sculpture size is to x real size.
1.5/8 = (5 ft)/x)
1.5x = 8 * 5 ft
1.5x = 40 ft
x = (40 ft)/1.5
x = 26.666... ft
The original is 27 ft
