y= (1/3).x -1

To find x-intercept we give y the value of Zero: So 0=x/3 - 1
and x /3= 1 → x = 3
To find y-intercept we give x the value of Zero: So y=0/3 +1 and y = 1
A, x-intercept (3,0) and B, y-intercept B(0,1)
You find A and B on the axis system and the line AB will be the graphic answer

\bf y=\cfrac{1}{3}x-1\\\\ -------------------------------\\\\ x-intercept\implies \stackrel{y}{0}=\cfrac{1}{3}x-1\implies 1=\cfrac{x}{3}\implies 3=x\qquad \boxed{(3,0)} \\\\\\ y-intercept\implies y=\cfrac{1}{3}\stackrel{x}{0}-1\implies y=-1\qquad \boxed{(0,-1)}
