Hydrolisis reactions are involved in the break down of organic polymers to yield monomer. The reaction involves the splitting of  a water molecule each time a bond in the polymer is broken.

Answer:

Covalent bond

Step-by-step explanation:

Two monomers join together to form polymer through a covalent bond. This bond is formed by releasing a water molecule through the process of Hydrolysis followed by dehydration . In hydrolysis, a water molecule is broken down and then through dehydration, the water molecule is released.

This overall process of formation of covalent bond, hydrolysis, dehydration and release of water in totality is termed as polymerization.
