> Factor the expression for the revenue

We are given that the revenue is the product of price and number of units sold = x p. Given the equation of revenue we factor it:

R = 800 x – 0.25 x^2

Take out x from the equation:

R = x (800 – 0.25 x)

We see that this is now in the form x p

> Determine an expression for the price in terms of x

From the factored equation we can say that the price in terms of x is:

p = 800 – 0.25 x
