the answer is An absolute monarchy is ruled by a single individual; a republic elects representatives to make decisions.

In a monarchy, all the power within the government is given toa person that act as a king/ruler that could basically determine all the policies imposed within the nation
a Republic on the other hand, make its policies and regulations through the vote of the majority of the people and delegated the power to several representatives within the government.
