Evaluate the extent to which the expedition of Meriwether Lewis was a significant Turning Point in regard to the relationship between the United States and Native Americans.

When Lewis and Clark went on their expedition they talked to the natives about the government and attempted to make friends. They treated the natives well and gave them lots of gifts. They wanted to facilitate a good relationship and friendship.
