Unconventional political participation
This is usually used as an attempt to influence political process by extreme measures as it uses relatively uncommon behaviors that challenge or defy the government (or the dominant culture). Examples of which include boycotting, signing petitions, and staging protests.
Boycotting is the act of voluntarily and intentionally abstaining from purchasing, using, or interacting and dealing with a person, organization, or country, as a means of showing protest.
Picketing is a form of protest wherein the people gather near a workplace, establishment or location where an event is taking place, usually to express and call attention to their grievances, complaints and discontent, to discourage patronage, and to discourage strikebreakers (in the event of a strike).
