Which sentence uses the word "than" or "then" in a way that is often contested or identified as "wrong"?

A) If you are so good at fixing broken appliances, then why don't you fix the leaky refrigerator?
B) Rather than argue over the definitions of certain words, let's just agree to table this discussion.
C) At first, I was unsure about going to the gym, than I went for a few days and found out I loved it!
D) When Margaret told me that she was the only one going to the dance, I said, "I"m not sure I'm going then."

Answer:C

Step-by-step explanation:

The sentence that uses the word “then” or “than” in a way that is questionable to some people is following one: At first, I was unsure about going to the gym, than I went for a few days and found out I loved it! The word “than” is used primarily for comparison, not to indicate time passing or chronology. ( I just took it on USAtest prep)

Hi !!

A, B and D are correct....

C is not correct

At first, I was unsure about going to the Gym, then I went for a few days and found out I loved it !

Then = relates to time . It's an adverb. You can change it with afterwards (A,C) ,with "at that time" or as a consequence (D)

Than = most of the time it introduces a comparison (he is smaller than Paul)

"Rather than" is an adverb meaning "instead" (B)

hope I helped !!
