The transfer of products (plants, animals, people, as well as diseases) when the Europeans arrived in the Western Hemisphere is termed “Columbian Exchange”. Columbian Exchange brought many crops such as onions, wheat and grapes and livestock such as cattle, horses and pigs which all thrived in the Americas. Europe benefited from the The Columbian Exchange, too. Two crops that had a huge impact were potatoes and corn. The exchange brought the two hemispheres closer together by mixing of the products.
