"Thanks for the ride home, Mrs. Jennings," Nathan said, as he lifted his backpack and sports bag from the car. "Anytime your dad gets hung up at work and can't make it in time, just let me know. You can always ride home with us," his friend's mom said.

Which describes where a paragraph break should be inserted?

(A) A paragraph break should come after the words Nathan said.
(B) A paragraph break should come after the words car and the word know.
(C) A paragraph break should come after the word car.
(D) A paragraph break should come after the word know.

Once a new speaker is speaking, you need to put a paragraph break between that and the previous paragraph.

So in this case it would be C, after the word car, when his friend's mom speaks.

you should add a paragraph when Nathan finishes talking so c

"thanks for the ride home, mrs.Jennings," Nathan said, as he lofted his backpack and sports bag from the car

add paragraph

"Anytime your dad gets hung up at work, blah blah
