Hinduism was most widely practiced under the Gupta dynasty.
The Gupta Empire constituted an ancient Indian empire lasting from the mid-to-late 3rd century CE to 543 CE. At its zenith, from approximately 319 to 543 CE, it stretched over much of the Indian subcontinent. It was founded by the king Sri Gupta.
Some consider this period as the Golden Age of India in the arts, sciences and religion. Furthermore, Hinduism flowered and expanded throughout India.
As a result of substantial loss of territory, the empire eventually dessapeared.
