2x + y = z

WHEN SOLVING FOR X :

2x + y = z

We just need to isolate x, so subtract y from both sides.

2x = -y + z

Then, divide both sides by 2.

2x ÷ 2 = -y + z ÷ 2

Simplify.

x = -y + z / 2 →
x = (-y+z)/(2)

WHEN SOLVING FOR Y :

2x + y = x

We need to isolate y, so subtract 2x from both sides.

y = x - 2x

Simplify.

y = -x

~Hope I helped!~
