There are numerous factors, both outside and inner. Inside factors include things such as body preparedness, where things such as lung capacity, weight, muscle strength, and similar, while outer factors are things such as motivation. If you see others push themselves you will want to compete and push yourself even more which can lead to better results and achievements. A diet is also of extreme importance.
