The slope formula is:

(y_(2) - x_(1) )/( x_(2) - x_(1) )

You would then put in the points.

(2 - (-4))/(4 - 1)

Is equal to

6/3

Or 2.

You would do y1-y2/x1-x2. So2--4/4-1

That equals 6/3=1/2 so the slope is 1/2
