The British policy of salutary neglect, allowed the British to regulate trade laws which implemented forcefully on the colonies in America in the 18th century.

The colonists became angry with the salutary neglect because Britain was controlling everything in colonies. The colonial settlers were not permitted to attend their town meetings and their trade with other countries was restricted. The end of salutary neglect led to the increasing anxiety between the colonies and Britain, which finally led to the American Revolutionary War.
