And, the small box be y

Therefore

3x + 8y = 91.......(i)

5x + 2y = 78.......(ii)

15x + 6y = 234

Now deduct the last equation from the above one

34y = 221

y = 6.5 kg

For x, it is

3x + 8(6.5) = 91

3x + 52 = 91

3x = 91 - 52

3x = 39

x = 13 kg

Hence, the large box weight is 6.50 kg and the small box weight is 13 kg
