The suffrage expand between 1800 and 1940 with the following causes;
- Males are given suffrage by other new states that are over the age of twenty one
- The right to vote are given to wealthy African americans
- There is a right to vote as it was increase because of decrease property requirements
- There is a democracy among states because of the joined union has increased
