At a shirt sale, Jackson sees two shirts that he likes equally well. Which is the better bargain, and why? Shirt 1: $33 w/ 40% off. Shirt 2: $27 w/ 25% off

Shirt 1: $33 w/ 40% off

33 x 40 /100 = 13.2$ the discount
the price after discount
33 - 13.2 = 19.8$

Shirt 2: $27 w/ 25% off
27 x 25 /100 = 6.75$ the discount

the price after discount
27-6.75 = 20.25$

so the first shirt 19.8$ < the second shirt 20.25

Shirt number 1 because you have a bigger discount. 33*.060=19.80 and 27*.075=20.25 so shirt number 1 will be cheaper
