Gabrielle is 6 years younger than Mikhail. The sum of their ages is 34. What is Mikhail's age?

Mikhail is 20. Because 34+6=40, 40/2=20, 20-6=14 (Gabrielle), and 14 + 20(Mikhail) is 34 so Mikhail is 20.
