Answer:

5(3x - 6) is equivalent to 15x - 30

Explanation:

Jade wants to verify that the expression
5(3x - 6) is equivalent to
15x - 30. She substitutes 2 into each expression and evaluates each one.

To verify the expression lets substitute in 2 for x

5(3x - 6)=5(3(2)-6)=5(6-6)=0

We do the same with equivalent expression

15x - 30=15(2)-30=30-30=0

When we substitute 2 for x we got 0 for both expressions

So 5(3x - 6) is equivalent to 15x - 30
