Answer: - 15

Step-by-step explanation: First, combine like terms.

5p+3p=8p

Now you have, -1 = 8p - 8.

Continue combining,

Bring the -8 to the other side. In order to do this you have to get rid of the 8 on the P side by doing addition. This will look like -8+8. Now you do the same thing to the other side. -1+8. This gets you -7.

Now you have, -7 = 8p

We need P alone so bring the 8 over to the other side. This will look like,

8p - 8 on the P side and -7 - 8. This will get you - 15
