a model rocket launches into the sky. An observer on the ground measures the angle of elevation to the rocket at its peak height to be 67 degrees. How high did the rocket get if the observer was 100' away from the launchpad?

Use a right triangle and trigonometry.
The angle is 67 deg.
The adjacent leg is the 100 ft side of the triangle along the ground.
The opposite leg is the unknown height, h.

tan x = opp/adj

tan 67 = h/100

h = 100 * tan 67

h = 100 * 2.36

h = 236

Answer: 236 ft
