Let -3 1/2 = -7/2.

Let 0.5 = 1/2.

(-7/2)(1/2) = -7/4

Done.

Convert -3 1/2 into an improper fraction. That fraction is -7/2. Mult. this by 1/2.
Result is -7/4 (answer)
