The principle you must know and apply here is that the sum of the interior angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees. Furthermore, a right angle is always 90 degrees. Thus, the sum of the other 2 angles must be 90 degrees.

So, 2x-11 = x + 17. Gather the x terms on the left side and the constant terms on the right side, to find x. Show your work.
