This is a true statement. Psychodynamic theories and approaches always look at the underlying mechanisms that might be unconsciously affecting individuals and groups that can be used to explain actions and beliefs. This approach takes a deeper look at the individual than many approaches, which may use a more surface-level, behavioral tack to explaining actions.
