First we want to simplify the fraction 9/12 so it can be 3/4
next we want to subtract 3/4 - 1/4 and we get 2/4
next we want to multiply 5 * 2/4 and we get 10/4
and lastly we want to add 5/2 + 0.5 to get our answer
Answer: 3
