We have the next function

g(x)=(x+1)/(x^2+2x+1)

And we must find the values of x that are not in the domain of g.

since the functions is a faction the values of x where the function is not defined are the values that x takes when the denominator is equal to 0

To find these values we must equal the denomintor to 0 and then solve it for x

x^2+2x+1=0

factoring,

\begin{gathered} (x+1)^2=0 \\ x+1=0 \\ x=-1 \end{gathered}

Finally, the value of x that is not in the domain of g is -1

ANSWER:

x=-1
