3.24+.81=4.05

intitial cost + initial cost times percentage = new cost


3.24 + 3.24 ((x)/(100))= 4.05

Subtract 3.24 from both sides


3.24 ((x)/(100))= 0.81

divide by 3.24 on both sides


((x)/(100))= 0.25

Multiply both sides by 100

x= 25 %
