Answer:

The primary difference between the two passages is that the dramatic form uses dialogue to a much greater and effective extent. In fact, the narrative passage uses no dialogue at all. The story is much more interesting to the reader when characters speak directly to the audience and their accents reveal much about their social class and normal behaviors.
