Silicon's element name is Silicon. Silicon's symbol is "Si" Silicon is a metalloid. Silicon would belong in the Semi-Conductor's family. 14 Protons, 14 Neutrons and 14 Electrons (if the silicon element is neutral and the most common of it's atom.)
