The system of equations is
x - 2y = 2 (1)
3x + y = 6 (2)

From (1), obtain
x = 2y + 2 (3)

Substitute (3) into (2).
3(2y + 2) + y = 6
6y + 6 + y = 6
7y = 0
y = 0
From (3), obtain
x = 2*0 + 2 = 2

Answer: (2, 0) or x=2, y=0
