How to solve the equation properly:

3 + x / 2 = 10

Multiply 2 on both sides.

3 + x = 20

Subtract 3 from both sides.

x = 17.

What he did wrong:

He subtracted the three on both sides before he multiplied the two. This will make him get the incorrect answer because he did it in the wrong order.

Hope this helps!
