The major cause of a recent increase in the rate of extinction is the encroachment of humans into the forests, cutting the forests for their own use and other human activities.
Human activities have disturbed the habitats of many animals such as birds, insects, wild animals, etc. Destruction of grasslands, forest areas for human purposes have actually destroyed the homes of millions of animals and birds. Forests have been cleared, water bodies have been polluted and soil has been mined. These activities have led to extinction of species.
