The S phase in the cell cycle is the SYNTHESIS PHASE WHEN DNA IS REPLICATED. The correct option is A.
In the cell cycle, the S phase is the stage at which the DNA is replicated. The S phase is located between the G1 and the G2 phases. Very accurate DNA replication is very important in order to conserve the genetic information in the DNA.
