One lap of a high-speed automobile race is 2.60 miles. A driver completes 35 laps traveling at 182 miles per hour.

Explain how you can use the equation d=rt to find the time it takes to complete the laps.

If d = rt, then t = d/r..

Let's divide (2.60 miles / lap )*(35 laps) / (182 mph) = d / r

t comes out to be .5 hour, or half an hour. 182 mph is pretty fast!
