The difference between
carnivores, herbivores
,
omnivores
,
detritivores
, decomposers, scavengers, and predator/prey. such as: Eat both plants and other animals. Feed on dead organisms (but not waste products).

herbivore: an animal that only eats plants
carnivore: an animal that only eats meat (other animals)
omnivore: an animal that eats both plants and meat
detritivore: an animal that feeds on dead organic material
decomposer: An organism that decomposes organic material
