let x be the number of adults
let y be the number of child
3.5 x + 2.25 y = 50
x+ y =20 y = 20 - x
3.5 (20-y ) + 2.25 y = 50
70 - 3.5 y +2.25y =50
70 -1.25 y = 50
y = 16
and x = 4
