Simply write what you read!

"Write an expression"

This means no equal sign.

"for the calculation 5 times the number 25"

5 x 25

"and then subtract the quotient of 14 and 7"

- 14/7

Combine them together and you get:

5 x 25 - 14/7

Remember to use your Order of Operations, aka PEMDAS

You would multiply and divide the numbers first, and then subtract the product (answer to a multiplication problem) and quotient (answer to a division problem)!
