The ratio of the side length of square A to side length of square B is 4:9. The side length of square A is 12 yards. What is the perimeter of square B?

Answer: the perimeter is 108 yards. Here are the steps:
A:B
4:9 (Ratio of side A to side B.)
12:27 (A was increased 3x, so B needs to be increased 3x to keep above ratio the same when simplified. Ex. 15:20 simplifies down to 3:4.)
27+27+27+27=108yds (Perimeter is all of the sides added up.)
