In most stories, we can identify 5 stages: Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution. Overall, in the exposition part, the characters and the setting are introduced, then occurs a series of events or conflicts that build to the greatest point of interest (the Rising Action), which leads to the Climax: the turning point in the story. Following the Climax, comes the Falling Action which is the stage where things start to work out, the conflicts ease, the tensions decrease and the characters feel more relief, and very often, they also display a new trait or insight. Finally, in the Resolution, the conflict is solved and the story ends.
