1) x = pounds/peaches bought
2) y = total cost of the peaches
3) formula would be: y = $2x

but i don't understand what you'd want to know...

y----------> represents the total cost of the peaches

we know that

Peaches are being sold for
2(\$)/(pound)

so

the equation that best describes the values of x and y is equal to


y=2x or
x=y/2

The relationship between the two variables, x, and y, represent a direct variation

therefore

the answer is


y=2x or
x=y/2
