Cell membrane is the organelle that keeps the outside out and the inside in. Thus, CELL MEMBRANE was the thin white layer around the egg. The yolk of the egg was the nucleus. Egg also contains a hard eggshell. An egg is formed as a result of fertilization of an ovum.
